The American College of Veterinary Hospice and Palliative Medicine (ACVHPM) is a proposed Recognized Veterinary Specialty Organization dedicated to advancing the care of animals experiencing chronic, progressive, and quality of life-limiting conditions. This specialty focuses on optimizing quality of life through expert pain and symptom management, comprehensive palliative interventions, and compassionate end-of-life care, while also supporting the emotional and psychosocial needs of caregivers.


Comment Period Now Closed
The public comment period has now closed. The AVMA American Board of Veterinary Specialties received input from the community on recognizing ACVHPM as a veterinary specialty organization, and the organizing committee thanks everyone who took the time to submit comments. Next steps in the review process will be shared as they become available.
